Refiloe Nt’sekhe is the DA National Spokesperson and Deputy Federal Chairperson. She also serves as Gauteng Social Development Shadow MEC. Refiloe is the constituency head for Kempton Park and Tembisa.
After the May 2014 elections she was re-appointed as Gauteng Provincial Spokesperson for the Democratic Alliance. Previously Nt’sekhe was the councillor for ward 24 Ekurhuleni.
Before joining politics, she was the Democratic Alliance National Director: Sustainable Markets which included building the DA brand in 150 wards around South Africa.
Prior to joining politics she had a successful career as a Marketer having served as a Brand manager for the following companies: SABC (South African Broadcasting Corporation), Absa
(Amalgamated Banks South Africa), SAA (South African Airways), Capespan (which looks after the Outspan and Cape Brand).
Refiloe holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree majoring in Political Philosophy, a Post-Graduate Diploma in Marketing Management from the University of Cape Town. In addition, she has Airline Management and Airline Marketing certificates from IATA and a public relations diploma from Damelin.
During her UCT years, she was a member of South African Liberal Students Association. In 1997, she served this organisation as the International Officer.
Refiloe is married with three boys. When she is not busy with politics, she spends her time being a mom, driving the boys around to different extra-mural activities and reading. She also manages her Construction and Marketing business which she runs with her husband. For relaxing, she enjoys playing tennis.
She is passionate about travelling: having been to every continent in the world and visiting major cities including New York, Montreal, Rio, London, Paris, Bangkok, Shang-Hai, Cologne and Sydney to name but a few.
