Michele Clarke is the DA Spokesperson on Community Safety in the Gauteng Provincial Legislature since she was elected in 2014. She also serves on the Petitions Committee.
Michele has a diploma in Bookkeeping as well as a certificate in Municipal Financial Management. Prior to entering into politics fulltime, she ran a surgical practise for surgeons as both a Financial and Practise Manager. She has however, worked for local government for 13 years.
In 1999, Michele joined the DP and in the same year, she became the Bedfordview Branch Chair. She has served her ward diligently as a Ward Councillor, Deputy Caucus Chief Whip, a Constituency Fundraising Chairperson and an honouree member for Rotary.
She believes she “joined the DA as it is the only hope for changing this country to a true democratic, liberal country”.
Michele is currently studying for a degree in Law. Her interests include music, film, reading and cooking.
