Graham Gersbach is a member of the Standing Committee on Public Accounts and DA Political Head for the Bronberg Constituency in Ekurhuleni covering wards 1 to 5 plus wards 23, 25, 89. 100 and 102. His constituency stretches from Midstream and Bashewa in the north to Atlasville and Petit in the south.
Graham attended Parkhurst Primary School and matriculated from Edenvale High School. He studied Accounting at the University of the Witwatersrand and worked as an external audit clerk, internal auditor, business analyst, financial accountant and company financial manager.
In September 2010 he was elected as an Ekurhuleni PR Councillor serving on the Roads and Transport portfolio. In May 2011 he was elected as Ekurhuleni – Ward 92 Ward Councillor. Thereafter he served on the Finance Oversight Committee and Rules Committee.
Having joined the PFP during the 1979 Edenvale by-election Gersbach was a founder member of both the DP and DA and served as Edenvale Constituency Chair for most of the 80s and early 90s and subsequently as Constituency Chair of Kempton Park / Edenvale.
He has an interest in constitutional politics and federalism. He is known as the Demarcation expert in the DA in Ekurhuleni.
He has two daughters and is passionate about football – just ask his fellow members of the Johannesburg Loyal Rangers (Glasgow) Supporters. Locally he supports Highlands Park whose home ground is Makhulong Stadium in his constituency.
